Yesterday I continued knitting around for the main body of the hand for 3 inches above the stitches I cast on when making the thumb hole.
Here I have started decreasing just as I did for the toe of the sock except that instead of putting half the stitches on one needle and a quarter of the stitches on two needles, I have kept the needles in the same position as when they had a third each of the stitches and used a thread loop as a marker for the side stitches to decrease around.
Mittens seem to go together faster than socks, so I started a second pair in a heavier weight yarn.
This morning I adapted a database for on the web and went through a Perl CGI programming jag, so didn't do a lot of knitting. More tomorrow.
