Cabin fever hit here this morning. Bode didn’t want to get up, just looked at me with those big doggie eyes. He didn’t seem to be in pain. He perked up a bit when I put my stuff on and went out to check the front walk. It only needed a sweeping for the light snow that fell over night. I sprinkled some salt to melt the icy patches.
So, instead of going in, we got Bode’s leash on and took the shovel along to the car where it is parked on a side street. He supervised while I did some shoveling and ran the motor. The car has been sitting in the same spot since Thursday last week when I returned from visiting my parents.
I shut down the car and started walking on 4th Avenue until we found where the sidewalks were cleared so took them with several stops to send and check P-mail then went through the alley and across 5th Avenue to our house.
He seems to be in better spirits now.
5th Avenue (State Route 128) is sloppy but fairly clear. The other streets and alleys I saw were passable but packed snow.
