Geeks and needlework

Related to the theory that math and music abilites are related is that programing and needlework are somehow linked.

This morning while browsing Perlmonks I followed a link to a programming book. In the author’s note about the cover art he described a Perl script he used for generating quilting patterns.

I had already found Elizabeth Bennett’s Perl program for calculating sock patterns and listed it on my Socks Blog — a pre-WordPress creation.

It is clear and cool today, energizing I hope! Need to finish filing taxes and make a trip to stock up on groceries.
