Farmer’s market – August

Wow, two posts in one day!

This is a bit of a crash day, went through things that could be done sitting down this morning, then went to the Farmer’s Market in Zeidler Union Square. I was thinking of buying some lunch, but the lines were long with office workers and, heck, I had all kinds of good stuff in my scooter basket from the produce booths!
Still life of produce in basket basket
Some of the produce in the picture is no longer with us. One Roma tomato got sprinkled with some salt shortly after it entered the apartment. Several others ended up chopped and drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

The apples are Melba and Wealthy. One of them was consumed shortly after arrival. There were still some Lodi apples, which I bought before, but they are almost done. All taste good, but it is a pleasure tasting the different varieties as they come to fruit.

One of the two egg plants was sliced, salted (with another shopping break while it stood), blotted dry, then dipped in egg then flour and sauteed in olive oil. About half of it is consumed, the remaining slices are cooling to be sprinkled with shredded cheese and rewarmed tomorrow or the next day.

Sorry for being so slow with this, Marc. Headache.

I admit to having completely missed the Numa Numa song phenomonen, but have since used Google and Wikipedia to catch up.
