This past week I defrosted the refrigerator. It will probably need minor defrosting when I turn it off, but shouldn’t be large puddles now that most of the accumulation of ice is gone. I needed something not very intellectually challenging to do coming off the headache.
I have been using up stocks of food from the cupboard too.
Sally adopted the four large house plants. She has lots of windows and they can sit outdoors there too. She just reported back that they are settled in.
It will be at least 12 hours driving, spread over two days. Was concerned that if I tried to move the plants in the van, they would get damaged.
Now I am ready to start packing boxes.
The official count now is that we had 28 tornados in the storms on Thursday. I was struggling with Microsoft Works (which is EVIL! and belongs to someone else) when I noticed the extraordinary sky, towering cumulus clouds at sunset.
Later in the evening as I watched the sky, there were reports of documents and photos being found here in Milwaukee that had been transported up to 60 miles by the winds.
Sally said the rainbow that evening was the biggest she had ever seen.
