Puppy happiness consumer madness

Saturday afternoon Geoff brought Buddy and Baby by for a visit. They do have their quiet moments when you can get a picture, but most of the time they move around.

They are fun to play with, but, like with grandchildren, it is good that they can go home too.

A couple weeks ago Geoff found homes for the two older dogs he was given last fall, so only has these two younger dogs living with him. He can walk them together. When he had the four dogs, needed to take them out in shifts. Buddy likes to pull and Baby follows well, so he as been able to take them out on roller blades and his bike.

I decided to go ahead and put Google ads on my IT consulting pages. They offer to block competitors ads, but I figure that if people don’t want to hire me to do something original, might as well get some return when they spend a lot more money elsewhere. This is a puzzling behavior, as most people prefer to buy cheap goods in big box stores. Paradoxically though, they put these goods on their credit cards and end up paying for them several times over. Go figger.

For things like computers, most people will shop around for the cheapest hardware, then pay out piles of money for consultants to make their PCs work. It seems that you need a major brand name, even when “IT Professionals” are involved. How many companies do you know who change their business practices to match what expensive, proprietary software is available rather than tailor their IT needs to match the business? Answer: almost everyone but Walmart. Hey guys, you are supposed to be competing in a global economy!
