Participants in presenting the story of Gertie

I slept in late this morning after getting up during a thunder storm at 4:30 am. Had plenty of good leftovers from yesterday to warm up for brunch. My neighbor Pat was telling the story of Gertie the Duck for Children’s Day at River Splash at noon. I had promised to take some photos.

Pat is on the left in the back row. The boy in front of her is the son of a friend. The three girls are the great granddaughters of the bridge keeper who rescued Black Bill, the most daring duckling of Gertie’s brood, when he fell into the river.
