Saturday a day later

Last week I received a copy of The Return of Houdini, which I read then scanned the cover. I contacted Dave to tell him that he could pick it up.

Yesterday morning I went to the farmer’s market at Cathedral Square. It was their opening day, and although there were a lot of crafts-type booths, there were still quite a few with produce. I got spinach, radishes, green onions, and some wildflower honey. You forget in the winter how good produce tastes when it is picked less than 24 hours before you eat it. After baking bread and making a spinach casserole, was tired so napped in the afternoon.

So, I was feeling rested when Dave called around 6 to say he was in the park at Kilbourn Street. The skies had turned cloudy at mid day and there were some severe storms in neighboring counties, but by evening it had cleared up. I decided to meet him there with the book. He had met a group of people from the Tall Club of Milwaukee to visit River Splash.

Dave and popcorn lady

Dave attracts attention wherever he goes, but this lady was very charming, offered him free popcorn to tell his height – 7 feet 4 inches.

After this photo, we strolled around until we found a table on Old World Third Street. Lots of good bands there this year. More people Dave knew stopped by. By 8 we had a table full and were enjoying chatting and people watching. The pain in my shoulder started to get bad and I found I was tired again, so left escorted by Dave. By then the park was a lot more crowded but he was able to go ahead to clear a path for me in the scooter. I sent him copies of the photos then pretty much crashed.
