Took a van full of stuff when I picked up the keys on Sunday and took another load yesterday. Bode came along for his first look inside yesterday. What a trooper, he sniffed everything very carefully, then assumed his “library lion” pose and stood guard while I looked around and did some pre-move cleaning.
I am trying a different tactic than for the move from Milwaukee. Instead of filling boxes for non-fragile items, I am putting them into plastic bags, the ones with handles from the grocery store. That way I can carry them myself taking plenty of rests.
Friday is the official move day, but I may spend the night after choir practice tomorrow night rather than making the long drive home in the dark. The snow was flying when I left yesterday, then was a mix of snow and rain on the way home, no accumulation though. Not very comfortable weather, but according to the weather report it will be nicer on Friday.
The house’s nickname was supplied by a dear mito buddy, of Scots heritage, of course!
Bode has brought it to my attention that something is going on outside. I could hear heavy equipment but discovered that the township crew who has been working on the road for a couple weeks had made Cribbs Road out front look like a plowed field! Hoped to get out to take the folks to see the new house today.
