Slacking off

I have been neglecting my blog. Seems that life is what happens between migraines. Things were bad a week ago today. My eyes were still not working right through the weekend, major setback when I do most of my work at a computer screen.

I celebrated Mothers Day by going out for an ice cream cone. The weather was beautiful. I took the camera.

Wisconsin Avenue - 8 May 2005

The photograph above is on Wisconsin Avenue by the mall. The daffodils were fading, but some were still nice.

The crab apple trees were blooming too. Lots of people were eating outdoors at restaurants along the River Walk.

Narcissus blossoms

There is a story with the photo above. I was in the scooter, and the nicest flowers were at ground level. I tried reaching down but wasn’t satisfied. I have problems bending over, so I eased out of the scooter onto the ground, then rolled over onto my stomach to take this picture. The reward was the scent of it and the hyacinths blooming nearby. Some people stopped to ask if I had fallen out of the scooter.

Pere Marquette Park - Mother\'s day 2005

Some clouds were beginning to gather, so was good I got out. A lovely Sunday afternoon.

Yesterday was also a beautiful day, a bit warmer than Sunday. The tulips were at their peak! I was out to get groceries and didn’t take the camera.

Today it was 30 degrees cooler, but fortunately no snow. I made a pot of “cabbage roll soup” which is what happens when you take the ingredients: ground beef, minced bacon, onion, cabbage, tomatoes, salt, pepper, brown sugar, and vinegar and throw them into a pot instead of doing all the assembly work. Not as showy, but quite tasty on a cold day.
